Production Supervisor (Afternoon Shift) - 4 month contract

Occupant safety systems rely on active sensors and microprocessors to trigger pre-crash and in-crash occupant protection (such as tightening safety belts and deploy airbags) when it judges a collision is inevitable. Critical crash information is sent over e-call to emergency services and recorded for post-crash analysis.
What you'll do?
Supervising a unionized hourly workforce comprised of production operators and skilled trades.
Achieving attainment, cost, and quality targets.
Ensuring adherence to standardized work.
Educating, coaching, counseling employees through effective communication and motivation.
Developing employees to become autonomous work teams and effective leaders.
Addressing product quality, equipment breakdowns, machinery change overs, equipment and employee concerns in order to improve process efficiencies.
Working with Engineering, Maintenance, Material Planning and Logistics to deliver continuous improvement (Kaizen) initiatives.
Coach production personnel in lean initiatives and problem-solving methodologies.
Ensure compliance to Health & Safety Standards, as well as company policies
What you'll bring
The ideal candidate will possess a post-secondary degree/diploma with a minimum of three years related experience.
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, high volume manufacturing environment.
Past experience in SMT and automation systems would be an asset.
Experience with Microsoft Office Tools and Outlook.
Experience with the Ceridian Dayforce timekeeping system would be an asset.
Strong communication skills to ensure that all parties understand and receive appropriate information in a timely manner.
